The workshops will focus on the ins and outs of putting together books for children.
Workshop 1 - Saturday 18 September 9am - 12pm
The morning workshop will focus on the basic elements of a story to turn your ideas into a tale for children, with a discussion on the structure of kid's books. What to bring: a notebook and your favourite illustrated kid's book.
Workshop 2 - Saturday 18 September 1pm - 4pm
The afternoon workshop will focus on how to craft a narrative illustration for children's books with a discussion about the most commonly used materials and techniques, and how to develop the art of observation in search of your own visual style.
What to bring: a notebook and/or sketchbook and your favourite kid's book.
About the artist
Sofia Fortunato (pen name Miss Sofi F.) is a published children’s book writer and illustrator. With a background in Marine Sciences and Arts, she writes and illustrates stories that connect children with nature. She is the founder of Little Red House Books and lives in the Whitsundays with her family.
