Whitsundays Arts Prize Exhibition
The Whitsundays Arts Festival Art Prize Exhibition will be held at Coral Sea Marina Resort in Airlie Beach from 23-30th September 2022. The theme for this year is ‘Memories.’

Friday 23 September, 6.30pm to 8pm
Saturday 24 September, 9am to 4pm
Sunday 25 September, 9am to 4pm
Monday 26 September, 9am to 4pm
Tuesday 27 September, 9am to 4pm
Wednesday 28 September, 9am to 4pm
Thursday 29 September, 9am to 4pm
Friday 30 September, 9am to 1pm
The Finalists
The Exhibition finalists were selected by Mary Ann Santin of ARI Whitsundays and Kate O’Hara of Umbrella Studio. The recipients of the awards will be determined by guest judge Tracy Cooper-Lavery, Director, Gallery & Visual Arts at HOTA Home of the Arts Gold Coast. The major prize-winning artwork will be acquired into the Whitsundays Regional Council Art Collection. Winners will be announced at the Exhibition opening on 23 September 2022 at 6.45PM.
A People’s Choice prize will also be awarded, as voted by exhibition visitors.
The Call For Entries
Open to Australian artists working in any 2D (excluding photographs) and 3D medium which respond to the theme ‘Memories’. The Whitsundays Arts Festival Art Prize offers a total prize pool of $11,200.
The call for entries opened on 1 April 2022 and closed on 1 August 2022, 5PM AEST. The artworks selected as finalists will be exhibited at the Elbow Room, Coral Sea Marina Resort from 23 September to 30 September 2022.

Prize Details
Open to citizens of permanent residents in Australia during the 12 months preceding the closing date for entries in any 2D and 3D medium (excluding photographs).

Judging Panel
The 2022 Whitsundays Art Prize Exhibition will be judged by Tracy Cooper-Lavery, Director of the Gallery & Visual Arts at HOTA, Home of the Arts Gold Coast, along with two panelists.

Junior Whitsundays Art Exhibition
SmartArts, in conjunction with the Whitsundays Arts Festival Art Prize Exhibition, is hosting the ‘Junior Whitsundays Art Exhibition’ to encourage the development of upcoming artists (5-15 years) in the Whitsundays region.
