Toni Childs joins the Whitsundays Songwriter Festival

In a massive coup for the Whitsundays region, the Whitsundays Arts Festival is bringing Emmy Winner and three-time Grammy nominated American recording artist Toni Childs to Airlie Beach as part of the Whitsundays Songwriter Festival from 31 August to 4 September 2023. The Songwriter Festival is in its second year and provides a brilliant opportunity for local songwriters to learn from seasoned professionals, including Toni Childs, in an immersive one-day workshop. Toni will also perform alongside other outstanding artists in a Concert & Conversation event at Paradiso on Saturday 2 September.

Toni Childs is a celebrated singer-songwriter known for her powerful voice, inspiring independent spirit, and crafted storytelling. With fans in over 50 countries around the world, she has produced a list of international hits such as: Don’t Walk Away, Stop Your Fussin’, Walk and Talk Like Angels, Many Rivers to Cross, to name a few. Over Toni’s illustrious career she has opened for Bob Dylan and performed duets with greats such as Al Green and Peter Gabriel. 

Toni will join the professional faculty as part of the Emerging Songwriter Workshop on Saturday 2 September. Limited places are available for this one-day workshop, with participants being guided and mentored by professional songwriters to discover foundational and essential songwriting tools.

In addition to her role as a mentor, Toni will perform alongside other renowned artists in a Concert & Conversation evening event at Paradiso Restaurant on the Airlie Beach foreshore on Saturday 2 September. This event promises to be a captivating night of music and engaging conversation and offers the opportunity to connect with some of the most renowned and dynamic songwriters and artists in Australia.
