Community Lantern Making Workshops

$25 per session $20 for members
An example of some of lily’s creations and of small lanterns made at past workshops. Lily will be directing participants to create lanterns that match our theme.
Learn to make a free form small lantern which can become part of the Festival art installation “Mermaid Dreaming”. Lily Podger, artist in residence, has 25 years experience creating large images for the Woodord Folk Festival and many other events throughout Australia. Lily will be creating an installation featuring a large mermaid dreaming under the beautiful fig tree on the festival site.
You are invited to make lanterns which will hang in the tree or be displayed throughout the festival.
All materials provided. You may take your lantern with you after the workshops or leave for display at the festival and pick up on the last day - Sunday 19 September.
